UPDATE * UPDATE *UPDATE

Most of you know that we have not been scheduling games the last two Sundays of December around the holidays. Most managers have difficulties fielding their teams because of players' family commitments. This season is off to a slow start given weather and lack of fields. Well, today we received some good news when we heard from the coach at PCHS. His field was not due to come on-line until January but, this morning he made it available for this Sunday. The field is open for two games so, if interested, get to John ASAP.

We also have available a Gilbert field for evenings, Friday the 19th and Monday the 22nd.

SUNDAY 12/7
Crossroads 1:30 Monarchs at Reds CANCELLED

Thursday 12/11
McQueen 7 pm Braves @ AZ Angels

SATURDAY 12/13
Crossroads 9:30 Dodgers @ O's CANCELLED
Crossroads 1:30 Monarchs @ 45 Yankees CANCELLED
McQueen 6:00 Dukes @ AZ Rough Riders CANCELLED

SUNDAY 12/14
Crossroads 1:30 Monarchs @ Reds CANCELLED

Sunday 12/21
Phoenix Christian HS 10:30 45 Yanks @ Reds
Phoenix Christian HS 1:45 AZ RoughRiders @ Braves

As can be seen, we're off to a slow start with our winter season playing just one game. Fields will be scarce in December and at this time, we have no plans to play the 21st and 28th. We can play some nights at Crossroads and McQueen. Get back to let us know if you are OK with a night(s) game(s).

Managers - If you have not yet gotten your $ in, do so that we can lock in your team.

Teams that have confirmed for the winter season:

Orioles
Monarchs
Tigers
AZ Angels
Gamblers
45 Yankees
Dodgers
Tribe
Reds
Giants
The O's
Cubs
Dukes
Warriors
Mets
JungleCrocs
Wildcats
Braves
Royals
AZ Rough Riders
Rays

If your team is supposed to be on this list, send a message to John

By now most have probably heard of the sudden and tragic death of Adam Sigler. Adam, 41, was the oldest child of Connie and Steve Sigler, founder and president of MSBL. Our sympathies go out to Steve and the Sigler family. A Memorial Tribute to Adam is posted at AZMSBL.com. Following is the link.

BILL COCCHIA

Bill Cocchia, who is one of the elite baseball players in our league, has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Billy has been playing in the league since 1988. His hitting and pitching achievements are legendary and his remarkable career includes 33 World Series rings. Whether it was a key hit, or clutch pitching, Billy was always able to come through when his teams needed him most. He was such a tough out, that teams decided that the best strategy was to get him to join their team, rather than to try to get him out.
Now we need to join Billy in his battle against prostate cancer. Billy is facing his toughest opponent and he needs to beat this and be able to join us back on the field playing the game he loves.
You can help Billy win this battle by making a donation to the McKenna Youth Foundation on behalf of Billy Cocchia. Your donation is tax deductible and 100% of your donation will go directly to Billy. The website is unable to handle online donations for this specific cause, so please send all donations through mail to:
