2009 PLAYOFFS
Completing the regular season in August will enable us to return to our traditional playoff format.
The top four teams in each division will play three game sets. (1st vs 4th, 2nd vs 3rd, winner vs winner) We'll plan to start games September 9th which should allow the tournament's completion by month's end.
***************************************************************
Typically our August schedule is packed and this year is no different. Without a large number of monsoon rainouts, we'll complete the regular season August 30th. Our 2008 playoff
season was altered due to a field shortage mainly caused by an earlier than usual start of the national tournaments. Concluding our regular season by August 30th SHOULD allow us to return to our customary two out of three playoff format for the top four
records of each division.

Guys, the following message was received regarding the game between
the Isotopes and Rockies at Papago on the 19th.
Hi John,
One of my staff members forgot that she had to work last night at Papago, so I came in to work the shift. I must say that I was very pleased with the two teams that were playing out
there last night. I made a point to meet with each Team Manager and apologize for the delay and for them having to walk around through the A's Player parking lot. Neither minded the inconvenience. The game started a little late, but they were still able
to get the game in. It was a little questionable at the beginning because of the rain and wind.
I watched both teams throughout the night and they did everything the way we would hope all of our teams would. On deck hitters stayed on the warning
track. A couple of the children that were there, played in the open common area. The dugouts were left clean. Bottom line: These teams "get it".
Thanks for all your efforts.
